This Privacy Policy applies to https://ahmershah.dev, operated by Syed Ahmer Shah. It also sets out how Syed Ahmer Shah expects data and content to be handled across the connected social, publishing, and professional profiles listed in Section 3, to the extent those platforms link back to this site or are presented as official channels.

It does not override the individual privacy policies of third-party platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, Medium, etc.) — those govern how each platform itself handles data. See Section 13.

All written articles, source code, project write-ups, case studies, photographs, graphics, videos, audio, certificates, designs, and any other original material published by Syed Ahmer Shah — whether on this website or on any of the platforms listed below — are the sole intellectual property of Syed Ahmer Shah, protected under applicable copyright law, unless a piece of content explicitly states otherwise (e.g. an attributed quote, a third-party library credited in a project's license file, or stock/CC-licensed assets used with attribution).

04Information Collected

No payment or financial information is collected anywhere on this site — there is no e-commerce, checkout, or billing functionality. There is no advertising, no tracking pixel and no cross-site profiling. The "Read this article" feature uses your browser's own speech engine — the article text never leaves your device for that purpose.

05How Information Is Used

• To respond to messages sent through the contact form, and to send you a one-time confirmation that it arrived.
• To answer the question you asked the "Ahmer" assistant.
• To detect and block spam, bot traffic, and abusive form or chat submissions.
• To remember the articles you saved, in your own browser.
• To maintain the security and stability of the site.

Data is never sold. It is not used for targeted third-party advertising, and it is not shared with data brokers.

06Cookies & Local Storage

This site sets no cookies of its own and uses no analytics cookies. The only browser storage it writes is listed here:

You can block or delete cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings. Doing so clears your saved articles and chat history but will not break core site functionality.

08Data Sharing & Disclosure

Information is shared only with the service providers listed in Section 7, strictly to operate this site, and may be disclosed if required by law, court order, or to protect the security and legal rights of Syed Ahmer Shah or site visitors. Beyond that, no personal data collected here is shared with any other third party.

09Data Retention

Contact form messages are retained only as long as needed to respond to and resolve the inquiry, and are deleted periodically thereafter unless there's an ongoing reason to keep them (e.g. an active collaboration). Assistant conversations are not stored on the server at all — they live in your browser tab and disappear when it closes. The per-IP rate-limit counters used against spam are held in memory for at most 24 hours. Hosting logs follow Vercel's own retention window.

10Your Rights & Choices

Regardless of where you're visiting from, you can email support@ahmershah.dev at any time to:

• Ask what data (if any) is held about you from a contact form submission.
• Request correction of inaccurate information.
• Request deletion of your contact form submission and associated data.
• Ask a question about this policy or how your data is handled.

Requests are typically handled within a reasonable timeframe, generally within 30 days.

11Children's Privacy

This site is not directed at children and is not knowingly used to collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13 (or the relevant minimum age in your jurisdiction). If you believe a child has submitted personal information through the contact form, please email support@ahmershah.dev and it will be removed.

12Security

This site is served exclusively over HTTPS. The contact form and the assistant only accept same-origin requests, are rate-limited per IP address, and every message is screened for abuse before it is processed; the contact form additionally uses reCAPTCHA plus a honeypot field. Secrets (API keys, private keys) are kept on the server and never shipped to the browser. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so while reasonable measures are taken, absolute security cannot be guaranteed.

This site and its connected profiles link out to third-party platforms (GitHub, LinkedIn, Medium, Coursera, YouTube, and others listed in Section 3). Once you leave ahmershah.dev, that platform's own privacy policy and terms apply — this policy does not extend to third-party sites, even ones Syed Ahmer Shah maintains an official presence on.

14International Visitors

This site is operated from Pakistan and is accessible globally. By using it, you understand that your information may be processed on servers located outside your own country, subject to this policy and the policies of the third-party providers listed above.

15Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated occasionally to reflect changes in the site, its tooling, or applicable law. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this page will always reflect the latest revision. Material changes will be reflected here — there is no separate email notification list.
